Brian Canever is a sports writer, digital storyteller and blogger based in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Born to immigrant parents from Argentina and raised outside of Manhattan in the blue collar city of Bayonne, N.J., Brian’s fascination with storytelling was birthed by his grandfather. In 2015, he earned a master’s degree in communications from the University of Tennessee, and previously earned a bachelor’s degree in Latin American and Latino studies from William Paterson University. His work has been published by ESPN, The Knoxville Mercury, Ability Magazine, and Bleacher Report, among others.
In addition to his day job crafting the stories of international sports leaders for digital University of Tennessee and U.S. Department of State media channels, Brian has reported stories on professional cage fighters, Olympians, fraternity boxers, and immigrant soccer players. He also writes short fiction and poetry.
